INDIA SEALED THE SERIES WITH AN UNACCESSIBLE LEAD

What will be called a terrific performance from the Indian team has resulted in a series win for home team. The home team has taken an unaccessible lead of 3-0 in the 5 match ODI series.
The Indian team lead by the Indian Captain, Virat Kohli, has now won the series and will now try to whitewash the the Australians. Virat said, "it has been a complete series for us" in the post match presentation.
The star of the series till now is the all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been absolutely magnificent with the bat, ball as well as in the field. He has been man of the match twice in 3 ODIs and the way he is playing he promises to be an asset to the team in the future.
The Australian have completely failed to tackle the Indian Spin bowling attack lead by the two new wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. The wrist spinners are the new found for the Indian team. Both of them have bowled beautifully, not giving batsmen any room to score and this has led them to became the wicket takers for the team in the recent series.
In the batting department, the captain, Virat Kohli, himself is leading the team who is No. 1 in ODI ranking. The openers and middle order batsmen has also contributed in their position according to the need and requirement of the situation. As batting was never an issue in the Indian Dressing Room, it still is not an issue for the time being.

With every player in the playing XI performing consistently well, the team looks in good momentum. On the other hand, the visitor are not getting any momentum as far as win is concerned and are outplayed by the Indians in every department.
After the win in 3rd ODI against Australia, India has now registered their 9th Consecutive win in ODIs and Virat Kohli has now joined MS Dhoni's record of most consecutive ODI wins. If he wins 4th ODI against Australia he will be the first captain to win 10 consecutive ODIs.
The next ODI is scheduled on 28th Spetember in Bengaluru at 13:30 (IST). See you all there.
LET'S CHEER FOR TEAM INDIA.

BULLET TRAIN - DREAM OF NEW INDIA

PM Narendra Modi and his Japanese Counterpart during the launch of Bullet Train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart laid the foundation stone for India’s first bullet train project in Ahmedabad on Thursday. “This is the new India and the flight of its dreams is endless,” Modi said at the ceremony. “The bullet train project will bring speed and employment. It is human-friendly and eco-friendly.”

The prime ministers of the two countries laid the foundation stone for an institute that will come up at Vadodara where around 4,000 people will be trained for the bullet train project. The total cost of the project is ₹1.1 lakh crore. It is a joint venture between the Indian Railways and Japanese firm Shinkansen Technology. Japan will fund 81 per cent of the project, nearly ₹88,000 crores, in soft loans at an interest rate of 0.1%. The loan will have to be repaid over 50 years.

The Bullet train will run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai in a 508 km stretch of which 92% of the route will be elevated, 6% will go through the tunnel and only the remaining two per cent will be on the ground, so the Railways won’t require much land. The tunnel through which the train will go will be India’s longest tunnel of 21 km out of which 7 km will be under the sea.

The new train will be carrying 750 passengers and will have a top speed of 320-350 km per hour, with an average speed of 250 km per hour. It is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities to around 2 hours from the existing 7-8 hours. On the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route, 12 stations have been proposed: Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati. The fare could be between ₹3000 - ₹5000.

It is expected that the Bullet train would roll out by 2023, but Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said PM Modi wants the train to start on 15 August 2022 - when India completes 75 years of Independence. The government said it will create around 15 lakh new jobs in India.

ROHINGYA MUSLIM - WHAT'S HAPPENING ?

WHO ARE ROHINGYA ?
The Rohingya are often described as "the world's most persecuted minority". They are an ethnic Muslim group who have lived centuries in the Buddhist Majority Myanmar. Nearly 1.1 Million Rohingya Muslim live in the Rakhine State of Myanmar, where they have co-existed uneasily alongside Buddhists for decades.
The Rohingya speak Rohingya or Ruaingga, a dialect that is distinct to others spoken in Rakhine State and throughout Myanmar, they speak a language similar to the Bengali dialect of Chittagong in Bangladesh. Rohingya people say they are descendants of Muslims, perhaps Persian and Arab traders, who came to Myanmar generations ago. They are not considered one of the country's 135 official ethnic groups and have been denied citizenship in Myanmar since 1982, which has effectively rendered them stateless.

ETHNIC GROUPS IN MYANMAR

FROM WHERE ROHINGYA CAME ?
During the British rule, there was a significant amount of migration of labourers to what is now known as Myanmar from today's India and Bangladesh. Because the British administered Myanmar as a province of India, such migration was considered internal, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW). The migration of labourers was viewed negatively by the majority of the native population. After independence, the government viewed the migration that took place during British rule as "illegal, and it is on this basis that they refuse citizenship to the majority of Rohingya," HRW said in a 2000 report. This has led many Buddhists to consider the Rohingya as Bengali.
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM ?
Violence broke out in 2012, when Rohingya men were accused of raping and killing a Buddhist woman. Buddhist nationalists responded by burning Rohingya homes, killing more than 280 people and displacing tens of thousands.
Last October nine police officers were killed by armed men, believed by officials to be Muslims. Amid the ensuing violence, 87000 Rohingya Muslims fled to Bangladesh and government troops expanded their presence in Rakhine state. In November 2016, a UN official accused the government of carrying out "ethnic cleansing" of Rohingya Muslims. The Myanmar government has repeatedly denied accusations of “ethnic cleansing”.

VILLAGE BEING BURN IN RAKHINE STATE, MYANMAR

Last month i.e. August 2017, Myanmar further increased the number of troops in Rakhine, after seven Buddhists were found hacked to death. The buildup of troops prompted warnings of a fresh wave of violence. Since the violence erupted, rights groups have documented fires burning in at least 10 areas of Myanmar's Rakhine State. Nearly 300,000 people have fled the violence, with thousands trapped in a no-man's land between the two countries, according to the UN refugee agency (UNHCR).Residents and activists have described scenes of troops firing indiscriminately at unarmed Rohingya men, women and children.
The most recent violence is seen as a major escalation not only because of the scale, but also because of the involvement of a new Rohingya militant group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA). It says the attacks on government forces were an act of self-defence. The government declared ARSA a terrorist organization following the attacks.

MYANMAR GOVERNMENT'S SAY
Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s de facto leader, has denied that ethnic cleansing  is taking place and dismissed international criticism of her handling of the crisis, accusing critics of fueling resentment between Budddhists and Muslims in the country. The government has accused international aid workers of helping terrorists, besiege a village in Rakhine state. When Aung San Suu Kyi rose to power there were hope that the Nobel prize winner would help heal the country’s entrenched ethnic divides. But she has been accused of silently standing by while violence is committed against the Rohingya. International pressure is growing on her to curb the military operations.
Some argue that Aung San Suu Kyi fears an unpredictable military. Despite her position as state counsellor, the military has retained significant political power, with an allocated 25% of seats in parliament.

HOW IS THE REGION IS RESPONDING ?
Protesters have at times gathered in cities in India, Thailand, Indonesia, and Bangladesh to condemn the killing and persecution of Rohingya. The UN, as well as several rights groups such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have consistently decried the treatment of the Rohingya by Myanmar and neighbouring countries. The Governments in Southeast Asia lack established legal frameworks to protect refugees’ rights, and the ten members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have not coordinated a response to the deepening crisis. The members of the ASEAN has not raised any significant voice over the issue.

HURRICANE IRMA

Hurricane Irma at it's peak with a wind speed of 185 mph

Hurricane Irma thrashed a string of northeast Caribbean Islands with rain and winds of up to 185 mph, it now ranks among the most powerful Hurricanes ever recorded to make landfall. Irma has sustained winds speed of 185 mph for more than 24 hours, which is a record. On the Island of Barbuda, the category five hurricane destroyed nearly all buildings and have left the place barely habitable.

On Wednesday, Irma hit the leeward Caribbean Island moving through Barbuda and St. Martin. The New York Times reported that widespread damage has been done to property, homes and infrastructures on these Islands. Gaston Browne, the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda told reporters "Barbuda is literally rubble. The entire housing stock was damaged. It is just a total devastation".

Cars drowned in St. Martin Island

Irma blacked out much of Puerto Rico early on Thursday, covering it with heavy wind and rain as it headed towards the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Puerto Rico was spared from a direct hit but it got lashed by strong winds and torrential rainfalls, leading to hundred of thousands without power.

The Hurricane has left the entire Island of Barbuda and St. Martin destroyed. It has left the entire population without shelter and the condition is pathetic. We pray for the fast recovery of the hurricane victims.
